Finally joinin' my own bandwagon. My own Core OC, finally. It's been forever, because I couldn't think of one for myself... and this is it. Task Core, though I think more people would refer to her as Workaholic Core.
She was created to keep GLaDOS on task, though she was lately deemed redundant. After she was pitched though, she went about her own business, working on projects of her own, usually working herself to exhaustion. She's known for a high work ethic and can get excited over new projects or ideas, but always looks tired.
I'm currently working on a backstory for her, but you'll have to wait a bit for that : ) But until then, enjoy~
For now, enjoy this little profile tidbit for her:
Task Core
Height: 5'5”
Optic/Eye Colour: Dark purple
Hair Colour: Dark brown
Skin: Tannish
Also Known As: Forte, the Workaholic Core
Personality: Known for being quiet and withdrawn, she doesn't interact much with the other Cores, avoiding socializing the best she can. She can be friendly when she wants to be, but believes she's awkward in social situations, she prefers to spare herself the embarassment she may cause herself. Despite her generally quiet nature though, she can get rather excited, especially over a new project or idea, though this energy is usually transferred to her work. She also is rather snippy and easily flustered and becomes angry if she's disturbed too much when she's working. She's overly crtical of herself and what she does and hates people seeing her work until it's finished by her standards – even then, she's very hesitant about showing anyone anything anyway. She's a very determined as well as stubborn, known for not giving up or breaking when working. She however, does seem to get lonely when by herself for too long and is known to talk to herself, going as far to hold full blown conversations from time to time.
Appearance: As a Core, she looks like an other core: light gray body with dark gray and black accents. Her optic colour is a dark purple and the core casing shows signs of damage and wear and tear. The bottom “lid” of her optic is constantly dirty, making it look like a baggy eyelid.
As an android, she takes the form of a girl of average height and average build. She keeps her dark purple eyes, as well as that baggy, sleepy look and has dark brown, chin length hair. She wears rectangular-shaped glasses and is dressed in a similar fashion to the other Cores' android outfits, though hers is purple tinted and she has a layered cravat instead of a neck tie or bow and unlike some of the other girl Cores, wears pants instead of a skirt.
Background: Task was a Core created to keep GlaDOS on task, but was ultimately deemed redundant as GlaDOS seemed very much on task on her own and needed no outside aid. After being rejected, Task was put in charge of maintaining smaller areas in the facility, though she basically abandoned those original charges to work on projects of her own accord. Her projects were small and fairly harmless and kept her busy, though from time to time, she would attempt something too large for her to maintain, her projects occasionally causing a bit of damage here and there around the facility, one notable case causing slight issues in the Relaxation Wing of the complex.
She continued to work alone on her projects within the facility though, left virtually to her own devices, until an incident caused her to suffer a fall that put her out of commission. Initially, it appeared that her programming had been damaged beyond repair and she stopped functioning there for a period of time, until a procedure conducted later on seemed to resurrect her. She now continues her work in the chamber that was allotted to her before her accident, trying to complete what she had started.
Task's Room: One of Task's larger project and her ongoing one, is the restoration of a test chamber that lies just below the layer of chambers that GlaDOS' maintains. She was given it after the Relaxation Wing incident, as a way to keep her preoccupied and out of the way and it has done a wonderful job at that. Task spends much of her time behind the panels, moving things around and fixing them up to restore the room to it's former glory, but along with that she has developed a more artistic nature and also begun a giant mural in the one secluded back corner or what the others believe is a mural. No one has actually seen it up close as Task won't allow any one to see it, as it's not finished. This room is where Task spends most of her free time, if not all of it, as she finds very little reason to leave her work.
can't talk.
...busy.
Derp...
*feels stupid*
