With my computer out of order for the next... week or so, I have decided to get in touch with my more... traditional roots. So I went out and bought a cheap set of watercolours to play with. Now understand, I next to never paint. I never use watercolour. The last time I used them was like... in high school because I had to. And that was for like... a day. You know how it goes. So yeah : ) Here was my experiment. King Candy from Wreck It Ralph!

Turned out pretty good for an experiment I must say, so I figured I'd share with you guys and show that I'm not completely dead with my computer being out of order ><

I love this! Very nice use of watercolour! Wonder what it would have been like however... if Turbo had just made himself a fellow racer... maybe given himself a name like 'Blackstrap Moe' after the molasses that comes from the third boiling of sugar cane - blackstrap molasses. Am thinking of making a fanfic about something like that, but it would involve an old, non-glitched Turbo Time game being shipped into the arcade. Poor Turbo, blank-slate and all, is overwhelmed and rather shy at seeing all these high-definition characters, and most of them distrust him immensely. What happens? Does he succeed and make friends eventually, and possibly deal with the reputation his earlier incarnation garnered, or will the nice if-somewhat-bratty Vanellope adopt him into her game? Would he do things differently and overcome these setbacks?

Anyhoo, there's only a few things that really need fixing; the outlines look a bit out of place, because in a watercolour painting, it should be done mostly with colours and shades, rather than like a colouring book. It does however fit his cartoony design. Another thing I would recommend is cleaning up the sketchy lines. Try using GIMP or hax'd Photoshop for that, 'cause there is a 'healing brush' that you can use to for example paint over the pencil lines with the pink background or the peach coloured skin. It would make the painting look a whole lot better. But anyways it does look very nice! Keep practicing and keep up the good work!

Aw well thanks for the tips : ) I'm still new to watercolours and I'm so used to relying on my outlines. I'll keep it in mind when I pick up my brush again though ^^

You know, even though this was an experiment, I still think it's gorgeous. Nothing overlaps, it keeps that cartoony look like in the movie, and it screams cuteness. Two thumbs up!
