Heeey everyone~

Just an update: I am still alive! School's more or less kicking my ass in a way right now with Final project work (see [link]), so I've been busy with that. That and I've had conventions to go to the last two weeks and I also got a job that now takes up a lot of my time on the weekends. Not to mention the commission work I still have to do.

But yes. I am still alive.

Some info on the job I got: I work as an Illustrator for a local company called Pixo Entertainment. They do motion graphics projects (animation using Adobe AfterEffects) and my job basically involves separating assets to be animated.

So yeah, pretty neat stuff. It's just a small thing right now, due to me still being in school, but I might be able to get something lined up for the summer which is nice.

Anywho, that's what I'm up to. Hope to see you guys on the other side of the rabbit hole.

So, Animarathon was yesterday and I did fairly well. That means I'm able to afford a copy of SAI here on my new computer. I'm running on the trial right now, but I'll take care of that later.

But anyway… I'm thinking… as a celebration that later.. maybe a long over due Livestream?

Hey guys, in a bit - Maybe like an hour and a half or so - I'm gonna take a break from work to play a bit of Half-Life 2. I'm at the Ravenholm chapter and I'm thinking about Livestreaming it. Anyone interested in popping in? I hate Ravenholm, so it should be pretty funny to watch me go through it again after FOREVER.

That's right! I've finally got my new computer! I was able to get it for a little cheaper than what I expected and my cousin put it together for me the other day. However, it's been used only for small things right - lazy gaming and the likes - as I still have to install some programs back on here. But despite that, yes! I finally have my new computer : ) Thanks again for all you who helped by commissioning me to help save for my computer ^^ I really means a lot.

2) Chameleon Charm should be getting rolling again soon, however, I've recently run into a snag that's set me back. 3) I've started up a new mini-comic series blog as well. I mentioned it over on some of my Assassin's Creed III drawings that I might be doing a mini-series with Haytham and Little Connor. Sorry I've been kinda dead - or I feel as I've been - the last couple of weeks. Work and stress regarding school got kicked up a few notches because I was determined to get the full three minutes of my Senior film roughed before break. Family issues/obligations have also kept me busy, so, there's that too.

Anyway, a few things from me.

Firstly, a Merry Belated Christmas to you all. Hope your holidays were a good one and you had time with friends and family. And an Early(ish) Happy New Year, as well.

Secondly, commissions are still open to those of your interested. I'm also still willing to do physical sketch commissions, and the information regarding those will be added to the main Commission Journal later. However, I need to work out a few kinks in the system, so I'm going hold off on them for now. Also, as a side note, after the beginning of the year, pricing on commissions will probably go up. That'll probably be in a couple or weeks.

Right now, some commissions would be great, because I recently bought the parts for my new desktop build, but unfortunately, still had to borrow some cash from my mother. So, I need to make back what I owe her. Still, I managed to raise enough to cover most of the costs on my own, so yay for that! Thanks to all you who commissioned me and helped with the computer fund, by the way.

Thirdly, don't forget Chameleon Charm still exists. We're only on Page 10 right now though (see here: [link], as those family issues I mentioned earlier, as well as my laptops HDD going out, kept me from working on my usual reserves. That should be up and running again soon, too.

Also, for those of your following it, the Ask Ferdinand blog on Tumblr will be opening it's Ask Box again soon. Actually, probably tomorrow. We're starting with a clean slate and emptying the Ask Box and starting fresh. HELP! - Sketch Commissions

Hey guys,

As you may or may not know, my computer is currently down due to the hard drive failing. I've sent off the defective HDD to get a replacement, so it's gonna be a few weeks until I can work on my computer. So that means lack of digital work and commissions form.
However, this entire ordeal has sent the fire under my butt regarding my computer fund into a raging blaze and even with my computer being down, I'm not gonna sit around and do nothing.

So here's the deal: To help raise more money for my New Computer fund, I am currently going to start offering physical sketch commissions.

What I mean is pretty simple:For a low price of  $5 $10, you can commission a physical sketch of one character (2 if they're in chibi form), that will by physically mailed to you. Sketches will be drawing on 8.5x11 cardstock and come in a protector sheet for you. Payment will still be made through PayPal.  Price change is to help compensate for both shipping AND the slight fee PayPal usually deducts from transfers.

For these I'll take on 5 commissions at a time and will probably try and mail them out all at the same time. This offer, however, is only available to residents of the US as of now. Commissions will not be shipped until payment is made. Payment is required at time of ordering for these types of commissions.

First off, I want to thank you all for the Birthday wishes ^^ There were so many of them! I am touched.

However, the purpose for this Journal is a bit... downing. I had to put my computer in the hands of the Geek Squad again to look over the hard drive. I got a random warning message about a potential hard drive failure and after backing everything up and running about five different scans, my friend and I have come up with nothing as to what the problem is. Well... we came up with one thing, but the things he had me to try to fix it didn't.... well, fix it.

So I'm getting it checked out.

It should be back in a few days, hopefully, so that's good, but unfortunately, commissions are on hold right now. Sorry to those on the queue (which I still need to update - sorry on that too). HOWEVER. I was thinking of maybe doing something else for the time being. This little scare has actually scared me a lot, so I was wondering, if my computer is out for longer than I expect (knock on wood), would any of you guys be interested in physical $5 sketch commissions? Like you commission me, and I will sketch a character or two on a piece of paper and mail it to you? With my usual digital route currently out of commission, this is a simple way I can think of doing commissions and this little issue with my hard drive is yet another underline to the fact I need to get a new computer.

So... voice your opinions below. Again, this is all to help with my computer fund so I don't have to resort to these things and so my computer can stop giving me heart attacks all the time.

Well, the bad news is, I have to get my hard drive replaced. AND I gotta wait about a week for a replacement to come in because I'm getting it from Western Digital on my warranty.

But of course, the good news is that it will get fixed. I just gotta wait a little. But that's pretty much it.

However (I'll make a more official post about this in a bit) I think I will start offering physical sketch commissions, so stand by for more details.

Well, technically, it doesn't start until TOMORROW, but whatever. I start my Senior year of College tomorrow, so that is exciting. Anyway, this Journal is to just let you all know, as you may have seen before this, that I am closing commissions for the time being. I will finish the current ones on the list, but any others after that will have to wait for a bit. I have to get back into the groove of things regarding school, so we'll see how things will pan out once I get back into said groove. Hopefully, I can resume taking commissions, but I will more than likely have to bump it down to only three slots instead of the five I've been doing over this summer. Also, again, those of you waiting - I will have them done for you shortly! Promise. A few things regarding classes came up, so those had to be taken care of.

Anywho, that's basically it. Alright, gonna get this up so I don't forget.

Uh, firstly, I start up the Fall Semester of my Senior year soon. In less than a week now. Meaning, I'm gonna be busy and probably dead for a while, in terms of posting stuff. I know I've been crap at it right now, but please bear with me. This is important to all you who have commissioned me; things may take a while to get done. I'm sorry, but you can't expect the turnaround time to be a couple of days all the time when I have a lot of heavy-loaded classes nagging at me to get their work done too. So if you've been wondering where your sketch or line art is, please, be patient. I will get to them in due time. I hope to get my current work load done before classes start next Tuesday, but I have a lot of other things I want and need to get done in that time frame too.

One of these things of course, is Chameleon Charm, my personal comic some of you should know of, if you've been following me for a while. I've been doing a lot of work on that lately and hope to release soon. I probably won't make my summer release date as promised, but it will be pretty damn close. Also, as a heads up to you convention goers: ~EsaNany and I will be down in Louisville, Kentucky in a few weeks for Aoi Uma Con. So, feel free to stop by if you're in the area. Heyo guys! Just some updates from me, as I've noticed I've kinda been dead the last few... err... weeks or so.

I'm just down in Texas, but should be heading back home in about 2 weeks. Right now, I have a crap ton of my plate, but my biggest project is the reason why I'm updating. I'm finally getting my sorry butt motivated and have started work (finally) on pages - actual pages - for Chameleon Charm! I got an offer the other day to get it hosted somewhere, so I really want to get some stuff done and hopefully make my release for the summer, like I promised! Alrighty. Listen up. I got something to tell you all. I'm planning on doing something really stupid really soon. But it'll be funny. Hopefully you can tune in to watch me get reduced to a puddle of scared goop.

Anyway, you may or may not have found out by now, but there's been an Indie Game released called Slender, based off the Slenderman Mythos. I'm a fan of the Slenderman stuff, so I find it fascinating, but promised I would NEVER, EVER PLAY cause I have a huge case of SlenderPhobia and would have a heart attack.

Well, I'm willing to go back on my promise.

While I'm down here, I decided to try my hand at some games, cause I feel like it. I've already asked my cousin if I could borrow his computer for this, so I just have to go over there later and download some stuff. But here's what I feel like doing: I'm planning, sometime within the next week hopefully, of LiveStreaming the event of me playing Slender. He said I can download both the game and the LiveStream client to his computer to do this, so I think that's what I'm going to do.

So, this is a heads up Journal. I'll update the status of the event here (see below for the updates). So. If you want to see me whimpering like a moron, keep and eye out : ) Because you might get to see that chance in REAL TIME. Oh yes. I am willing, for you lovely peeps, to broadcast playing the game of my SlenderPhobic existence, to you all, in real time, on LiveStream. Though I'm just using that line because it was funny, I actually kind of mean that. That's how I felt yesterday about what's recently happened, so in a small way, I still feel that way about it.

Anyway, what I'm getting at, I have a lot going on for me suddenly. This all just happened yesterday, in the course of about ten minutes, and at the time, I didn't really know how to react. Next week, Wednesday, I'll be leaving. I'm flying down to my aunt's in Texas to basically play nurse (or MEDIC!!!!!!) until the beginning of September, to help her while she recovers from her broken leg. I'm a little excited to go down there, but it's not really a vacation, so I have to keep my head about me I suppose.

Though I don't mind helping out, this has made me shift my plans around considerably. I have a giant project related to school I have to get more or less all sketched out before I leave, so I'm now in a Crunch Time.

This also kind of destroys my time to find a small summer job, as the computer fund isn't going too, too well right now.

Which is what I'm kind of getting at. Since I'll still have my computer and the ability to draw things that way, I'm here to implore you guys again to please help with my computer fund by ordering commissions.   I'll be able to work on those between taking care of my aunt, so it'll help me while I'm helping her.

I have a little more time to raise money now, even, because I won't be home to work on my computer anyway. I just wanted it before school started, but I get home three days before my fall classes start, so I won't have it by then it anyway, it seems.

On a happier note though, I'd like to say that ~EsaNany and I have so far been accepted to two anime conventions soon, so if you're looking for lovely bottle necklaces and stickers, hopefully you can make it to one of them. Our schedule so far is as follows:

Anywho, updates. Uh... actually, this is mainly focused towards commissions. I know I keep posting non-commission related things lately and to those waiting, I feel like I'm making you wait too long or something. I just wanted to say that the current batch will be done shortly. I've been taking it easy the last few days, as I just finished up my first online course for the time being and want to relax some before having to start reading like a madman for my next class that starts next week. So they will be finished soon : ) Promise.

Those of you who aren't currently on the list and would like to be(which would be awesome), just keep an eye out. Like I said, current batch should be done soon and then I can take some more. Remember, I still need help with my computer fund, so anything you guys can contribute would be awesome : ) I'm slowly starting to make headway (chores around the house and the likes), but every little bit helps!

I guess another thing I can update you guys on is the stuff I'm working on for future Artist Alleys. Besides new stickers (I have at least... 20 or so in sketch form right now), I'm also looking at making prints up to sell. So, keep an eye out for those. Heeey guys. Just a small update. I'm back from Florida, however I'm in a crunch mode to finish my costume for this weekend. I'll be down in Sandusky, OH for ColossalCon this weekend. I'm not going to be in the Alley however and will be just there for fun. All commissions are on hold until I get back; I'll resume my work on them next week, as well as a number of other things.

Anyway, if you're there, maybe you can find me. I'm not sure of who will be when, but I'll have my Ginko costume and hopefully, my Loki costume with me over the weekend. I'll just be floating around doing... haha stuff.
